Hydronic Fan Heater, Up to 1800 Thermal Watts, About 6,000 BTU/hr

This is a heating accessory only. It does not generate electricity by itself.

All PiggyPower generator units make electricity from heat. The bigger the generator, the more heat the cooling water has to carry away during normal operation. The HeatBank 1800 takes that hot water and releases up to 1800 thermal watts into the room through a radiator and three fans. This model is best for larger PiggyPower systems where you want serious room heat, but not necessarily the entire heat load from the generator. For example, the 125 W PiggyPower Cell has about 3.2 kW of heat to manage, so one HeatBank 1800 can turn a large portion of that heat into warm air while the rest can stay in hot water storage, continue through the cooling loop, or go to another HeatBank. For fuller room heat recovery from a 125 W Cell, pair this with another HeatBank, such as a HeatBank 1200 or a second HeatBank 1800.

Rated output is up to 1800 thermal watts, which is about 6,000 BTU/hr. This is heat output, not electrical output. Actual heat output depends on water temperature, room temperature, water flow, and airflow. Hotter water and colder room air can increase output. Cooler water and warmer room air will reduce output.

The fans are powered separately through USB. The HeatBank 1800 includes a 5 V USB to 12 V step up adapter, so you can plug the fans into a normal USB power bank, USB outlet, or other suitable 5 V USB source. The three fans together draw about 3.24 watts at 12 volts, so it still takes very little power to run. A regular power bank can run the fans for many hours, and in most setups you will run out of stored heat long before you run out of fan power.

This is not an electric space heater. It does not create heat from electricity. It uses heat that is already stored in hot water and releases it into the room through a radiator and fans. In plain English, the water acts like the heat storage, and the HeatBank releases that stored heat when you want it.

WHAT IT DOES

The PiggyPower HeatBank 1800 is a compact hydronic fan heater. Hydronic simply means it moves heat using water.

You circulate hot water through the HeatBank. The internal radiator pulls heat out of that water. The fans push air through the radiator and blow warm air into the room.

Simple version:

Hot water goes in.

Warm air comes out.

Cooler water returns to the loop.

This makes the HeatBank useful for PiggyPower systems, off grid heating, blackout setups, cabins, sheds, workshops, emergency thermal storage, and any controlled hot water loop where you want to turn stored heat into usable room heat.

USB POWERED FANS

The HeatBank 1800 does not need a wall outlet to move air. The fans are low power and can run from a normal USB power bank using the included 5 V to 12 V step up adapter.

The fans are powered separately on purpose. This gives you steady, dependable airflow while the unit is heating, instead of relying on changing water temperature or unstable power. It also makes the unit easier to use with small batteries, USB power banks, and PiggyPower setups.

Fan draw: about 3.24 W total at 12 V

Power input: standard 5 V USB using included step up adapter

Power source: USB power bank, USB outlet, or other suitable USB source

Power bank: not included unless specifically selected or shown

For context, a small power bank stores far more energy than these fans need for a normal heating run. Even after normal conversion losses, a power bank can run the fans for many hours. In a full PiggyPower setup, a PiggyPower Cell may also help recharge the USB battery while the HeatBank is being used.

WHY IT IS CALLED THE HEATBANK 1800

The 1800 in HeatBank 1800 refers to the unit’s heat rejection rating under favorable cold room conditions.

In testing, the HeatBank 600 class setup reached the 600 thermal watt range under favorable conditions. The HeatBank 1800 uses a larger 3 fan radiator setup with more heat exchange area and more airflow, allowing the same basic concept to scale up to about 1800 thermal watts, or roughly 6,000 BTU/hr.

That is why this model is called the PiggyPower HeatBank 1800.

The exact number is not fixed like a normal electric heater. A normal 1800 watt electric heater is always dumping about 1800 watts of heat when running. The HeatBank is different because it depends on the hot water feeding it. With hotter water, colder air, better flow, or stronger airflow, output can be higher. With cooler water, warmer air, weak flow, or blocked airflow, output will be lower.

BEST USES

The HeatBank 1800 is best used for:

Off grid heating experiments

Blackout and emergency preparedness

Small room, shed, cabin, or workshop heating support

PiggyPower CHP style systems

Releasing stored heat from hot water

Pulling heat out of a PiggyPower water loop

Testing thermal storage setups

Turning hot water into forced air heat

This unit is especially useful when you already have hot water available and want a controlled way to move that heat into the air instead of letting it sit in a bucket, tank, or loop.

PIGGYPOWER SYSTEM USE

In a PiggyPower setup, heat can be used in more than 1 way. A PiggyPower Cell can produce electricity from a heat source while the water loop carries away heat. The HeatBank 1800 gives that hot water another job by letting it release heat into the room.

That means 1 heat source can potentially support multiple useful outputs:

Electricity from the PiggyPower Cell

Hot water in the loop

Room heat through the HeatBank

USB fan power that can be supported by a small power bank

The HeatBank 1800 is 1 piece of that larger PiggyPower heat recovery system.

WHAT IS INCLUDED

1 fully assembled PiggyPower HeatBank 1800 unit

1 larger radiator style heat exchanger

3 mounted 12 V fans

Installed housing

Inlet and outlet water connections

1 included 5 V USB to 12 V step up adapter

Basic setup and operating instructions

Hot water source, PiggyPower Cell, pump, battery, fuel, stove, bucket, tank, external tubing, and full loop hardware are not included unless specifically shown or selected.

THERMAL OUTPUT

Rated class: up to 1800 thermal watts

Approximate BTU/hr equivalent: about 6,000 BTU/hr

Heat type: hydronic forced air heat

Fan count: 3

Fan power draw: about 3.24 W total at 12 V

Fan power method: USB powered through included 5 V to 12 V step up adapter

Function: pulls heat from hot water and blows it into the room

Important note: 1800 thermal watts does not mean 1800 watts of electrical output. This unit does not generate electricity. It is rated by how much heat it can release into the room under favorable conditions.
